A Conversation with Jean Reynolds
How much do you practice? Do you work with an instructor?
I practice quite a bit. Until this year, I worked regularly with Charlie King at Reynolds Plantation. Now, I see him when I am back home or I need to work on a part of my game. He's really easy to talk with and knows my game. I really like working with him.

What was it like playing college golf?
I earned a scholarship and was able to play at the University of Georgia. I really enjoyed it, but I really liked the college atmosphere and everything the university offered. I joined a sorority, and participated in a lot of different activities so I only played one year of golf. During my junior year, I played in some golf outings, and I felt like I really missed it. I really missed competitive golf.

What was it like playing in this year's U.S. Women's Open?
It was my first major and first LPGA tournament. It was incredible. It was an exciting experience. Until I walked inside the ropes, I didn't understand what this experience was like. When I played the practice round, I met some super nice people. My brother caddied for me, and even though I missed the cut, I mentioned to him I felt like this was good enough for me [right now] and where my game is. I definitely would like to compete in more U.S. Women's Open tournaments in the future.

What was your experience like when you played Atlanta Junior Golf events?
I remember traveling to the events and the staff at each event. Everyone was so nice, and Merilee [Giddings] ensured that we learned the game and prepared to play, beginning with the rules of golf. She did so much for the association, and it really showed, especially during the Grand Championship. It was a really good time.

Do you have a favorite golf memory?
Yes. During this year's Women's Open, I holed out for an eagle.
